NZSTA Conference Justification Toolkit
Overview:
The NZSTA 2025 Conference is the flagship professional development event for speech-language therapists across Aotearoa. Whether you work in health, education, disability, private practice, justice, or research, this conference provides high-value learning, networking, and knowledge-sharing opportunities tailored to our profession.
We know funding applications and professional development approvals can be challenging, so we've created this Justification Toolkit to help you clearly communicate the value of your attendance to your employer, funder, or manager.
How to Demonstrate Value:
- Highlight Specific Learning Opportunities
Use the programme to identify sessions relevant to your role, caseload, or service priorities. Be clear about how the learnings will improve outcomes, streamline service delivery, support evidence-based practice, or align with organisational goals. - Offer to Share Learnings
Propose a short presentation, email debrief, or informal kōrero with your colleagues when you return. Sharing insights across the team boosts the return on investment (ROI) for your service. - Emphasise Broader Impact
Mention how networking with peers and experts can spark collaborative initiatives, mentorship, and resource sharing, and contribute to national SLT development. - Plan for Service Coverage
Demonstrate how you’ll manage your usual workload while away (e.g., using leave, team support, or digital check-ins). - Note Cost-Saving Opportunities
Early bird registration closes 5pm Thursday 31st July 2025 – highlight the discount savings. - Value of Included Extras
Conference registration includes morning/afternoon teas, lunches, and the welcome reception.
