Courses 1-4 are designed to deliver foundational bicultural competency. Within Courses 1-4, there are 14 modules.

NZSTA CPD Units = 12 units for completion of courses 1-4.
Courses 1-4 contain skill-building tools in each module that learners can choose to spend as long in as they wish. Most learners also go back and use these and other features in the modules over and over.

With this in mind, the general minimum to get through the material adequately for Courses 1-4 is around 10 mins per module for the two modules of Course 1 (introductory), 20 minutes per module for Course 2 (four modules covering Te Ao Māori & tikanga) and Course 4 (four modules covering tikanga, kawa & communications), and 30-40 minutes for Course Three (four modules covering Te Tiriti).

That's around six hours minimum for the foundational training.
