Emma Burnip

Kia ora koutou,

Welcome to the 2025 NZSTA Conference, ‘Navigating the Changing Landscape.’ It’s a privilege to gather at the Napier War Memorial Centre in the heart of Hawke’s Bay to connect, learn, and share knowledge.

This year’s theme reflects our collective journey in addressing the challenges and opportunities in speech-language therapy. We’re delighted to present an exciting programme, including Dr Felicity Bright (associate professor in rehabilitation, programme leader of the Doctor of Health Science, and outgoing chair of NZSTA PAC), Mary Woodward (senior advisor, justice, Speech Pathology Australia), and Dr Heather Came (advocate for Tiriti and racial justice) interactive workshops and ample opportunities to network and collaborate.

We mihi to Ngāti Kahungunu as the tangata whenua of this area and acknowledge their stewardship of this whenua. Ngā mihi mahana ki a rātou.

A special thanks to our sponsors, whose support makes this event possible.

We encourage you to make the most of the sessions, connect with colleagues, and explore the stunning surroundings of Napier.

Ngā mihi nui,

Emma Burnip and Ella Foreman
