*LAUNCH OF PETITION FOR PAID TRAINING FOR STUDENTS IN HEALTH and EDUCATION
No matter where we live or what we do, we all need access to education, healthcare and social support across a lifetime. For too long, successive governments have underfunded workforce development for essential services, and we are all paying the price of chronic staff shortages.
Paid training means we can grow the workforce, training more highly skilled people so everyone can access services for themselves and their whānau – when they need them.
NZSTA has been supporting @PaidPlacementsAotearoa with this mahi – advocating for our speech-language students.
Ultimately, we make the future, and we CAN make Aotearoa New Zealand, a place where we all have access to the services we need.
