Request your criminal record check with Veritas Check.
The New Zealand Speech-Language Therapists' Association (NZSTA) has a responsibility, alongside employers, to support the public's safety. All new NZSTA registered members are police checked when they apply for membership. These checks must be no older than six months old at the time of application.
All NZSTA registered members sign an annual declaration that they have not:
- Been convicted of a criminal offence or an offence related to the practice of speech-language therapy,
- Been the subject of a finding of professional misconduct, incompetence or incapacity by your employer or any other body,
- Been disciplined or sanctioned, or are there any disciplinary proceedings pending against you before any professional association, professional licensing authority or board, or other professional regulatory body.
Note: Under the Children's Act 2014, all paid employees and contractors working with children for state-funded organisations must be safety checked. This requirement extends to unpaid people working with children as part of an educational or vocational training course.
