The seven habits of highly effective speech therapists – Dr Robyn Gibson

$25.00

Robyn’s talk will use Linda Worrall’s article ‘The seven habits of highly effective aphasia therapists’ as the basis of exploring what we do as SLTs, why we do it, and how we can look at those seven habits from the perspective of working with those who need SLT services and for ourselves as clinicians. This talk should be relevant to SLTs across all areas of clinical practice
Robyn has been an SLT for 21 years, graduating from The University of Manchester in 2004. After two years working in London with teens and adults with intellectual disabilities and mental health disorders she moved to Auckland where her father’s family had been for 5 generation. Since then she has worked in neurorehabilitation from acute to community. Robyn completed a PhD in aphasia through The University of Auckland in 2023. Robyn has been part of the adult SLT team at Waitematā since 2010. She is one of the expert advisors for aphasia for NZSTA and co-convenes the Aphasia SIG/community of practice. Robyn is also a member of the Collaboration of Aphasia Trialists working group 7 (implementation science in aphasia research), and leads the international Clinicians’ Advisory Board.
