Eligible for 3 NZSTA CPD units, this engaging presentation will discuss common challenges SLTs encounter when involving parents in early intervention and demonstrate an evidence-based model that:

  • Effectively engages parents from the beginning to ensure their best learning.
  • Supports SLTs through every step of the process, from assessment to goal setting to strategy selection to parent coaching.
  • Provides a clear structure complete with handouts, coaching slides and videos, while also ensuring room for individualized clinical judgment.  
  • Can be applied flexibly within your service delivery, including in group and individual sessions, as well as in-person and online.

This course focuses on Hanen interventions and will include no or limited information on other similar or related products or services.


About the presenter

Dashiel Brockman, M.Sc., S-LP(C), Reg. CASLPO is a speech-language pathologist at The Hanen Centre who contributes to the ongoing development of It Takes Two to TalkĀ® and regularly offers this program to families. Dashiel frequently presents to university students on the effectiveness of parent-implemented intervention and the Hanen approach.
