Understanding Dementia
Participants in the free Understanding Dementia MOOC will gain an increased knowledge of dementia, including its causes, symptoms and ways of responding to the needs of people living with the condition.
The Understanding Dementia MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) was developed by the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre based in the College of Health and Medicine at the University of Tasmania. This world-leading online course is free, easily accessible and available to everyone with an interest in dementia.
The release of course content will occur at 9:00am (AEST) on the following dates -
- Introduction - 4th July, 2023
- Module 1: The Brain - 6th July, 2023
- Module 2: The Diseases - 20th July, 2023
- Module 3: The Person -3rd August, 2023
- Completion - 24th August, 2023
You can work through the content at any time of day and at your own pace within this release schedule. This includes revisiting earlier released content as needed.
