Te Whatu Ora Lakes are seeking an enthusiastic Speech Language Therapist to join our fantastic Allied Health team. You will be based at Rotorua Hospital and support both inpatient and outpatient care. There will be some opportunity to visit Taupō Base Hospital. While the role is pivoted towards adult care, there is also opportunity to provide dysphagia care to paediatric patients dependent on your skills and experience.

This position could be suitable for either a new graduate who would like the opportunity to grow and develop their generalist skills in multiple areas in a supportive environment or equally an experienced clinician who wants to take their clinical practice to the next level. The service has access to FEES, VFSS and stroboscopy clinics, and this role would provide the opportunity to develop skills in all of these areas.

You will be supported by the Service Manager Clinical Support Services/Director of Allied Health and the professional leader/team leader of Speech Language Therapy. As an SLT working across the organisation, you will be highly valued by our supportive multi-disciplinary teams.

Mō koe - About you

Our preferred candidate will have the following:

  • Previous experience of delivering care in a hospital setting, including the use of FEES and VFSS (although training can be provided)
  • The ability to work within fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have a deep commitment to address equity issues within our community

This position will require you to have a NZSTA registration. Remuneration will be aligned with your experience.

Awhe utu - Salary range

$77,087 - $113,300 pro-rata to hours worked
