Potential SLT student looking for shadow work and/or SLT advice - Nelson/Tasman or Marlborough

Kia Ora,
I’m Helen, a Registered Nurse, with a keen interest in taking on a Master of Speech & Language
Pathology at U.C. Both in my professional and personal life I have been touched by the impact
SLT has in promoting peoples engagement in the world around them and to flourish – whatever
that may look like for them. Before I leap in I’m reaching out to ask if any of you amazing humans
in the Nelson/Tasman or Marlborough region would be open to me shadowing your practice for a
short time, or simply offer some time to meet up in person or virtually to talk about the realities
of the work you do, from referrals to therapy, the ups, downs and everything in between.
I really appreciate any consideration or other suggestions from you all. I hope your conference
has left you re-invigorated in your practice and reminded you of the immense value in the work
you do!
