Aphasia New Zealand (AphasiaNZ) Charitable Trust is a New Zealand-wide charity providing support services, resources and information to people with aphasia acquired after stroke, brain injury and brain tumour/disease (including progressive aphasia).

Join our team of SLTs working as Community Aphasia Advisors (CAAs) to provide support and advice to those affected by aphasia, as well as facilitate Kōrero Clubs and other groups/activities. Empower families through information and supported conversation training. Help us to educate our communities, increasing knowledge and raising awareness of the nature and effects of aphasia.

We currently have opportunities for part-time and full-time work, particularly in the Auckland region, but also in Hauraki and the Eastern Bay of Plenty. Our online support services are also expanding so please contact us if you have an interest in our work, or you know that there is no CAA service in your region.

The ideal candidate will have:

- a recognized Speech Language Therapy qualification;
- experience of working with people with aphasia and of working in the community;

- a current driver’s license and their own vehicle;
- the ability to work autonomously;
- good networking skills and knowledge of the disability sector;
- a commitment to the Life Participation Approach in Aphasia
