We are seeking a speech language therapist to join our team of specialists at the Stuttering Treatment and Research Trust (START). You will be based in Greenlane, Auckland but some work in the community may also be required.
Ideally, you will have 4-5 years of practice as a speech language therapist, with some specialism in working with people who stutter and a genuine interest in developing further in this area. You will also be prepared to undertake training and development in stuttering therapy.
About the role
The position is for three to four days a week. There is a high demand for appointments out of school hours and providing telehealth therapy is a growing area of practice. You will be working with people of all ages who stutter.
START, a charitable trust, is the only organisation providing specialist treatment and support to people of all ages who stutter and their families in Aotearoa New Zealand. We provide individual therapy sessions, a range of groups and courses and community education. START also provides training in this area to other speech language therapists. You will be committed to professional development and be expected to develop your practice in the area of stuttering to a high standard. We are looking for a team player, who is flexible and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and who is committed to working collaboratively in a community-based organisation.
