Come to Southern NZ…This could be the change you have been looking for!
Southern District Health Board (Southern DHB) exists to support everyone across our district to live well, and access the right care when they need it, by delivering high quality, patient-centred and equitable health services to our diverse communities.
About the team
We are a team with an enviable mix of skill, knowledge and clinical experience, committed to delivering a high standard of service to our patients.
About the opportunities
0.7 FTE (Fixed-term to 17 November 2022)
This is a unique opportunity to work and live in Southern NZ while one of our team heads off on parental leave.
You will be based in our speech-language therapy department at Dunedin Hospital with our supportive and dynamic team of therapists. It would be an advantage if you have experience working with head and neck cancer, tracheostomy, ICU/HDU, videofluoroscopy and FEES, but not essential.
0.5 FTE (Fixed-term 12 February 2022)
This role is backfilling a parental leave role and offers a Speech Language Therapist with the opportunity to work on Inpatient wards including general medical, surgical, respiratory and cardiology acute wards with some in-reach to our ATR rehab ward and also supporting our videofluoroscopy clinic.
This small but dynamic team is going through a transitional period so if you are interested in becoming an SLT at Dunedin Hospital we would welcome your application to discuss current and future opportunities
Ideally, you will bring to us three-five years’ experience, but recent graduates are also encouraged to apply. This is a role for someone with enthusiasm for Speech-language Therapy who can manage their case-load while supporting the growth of other therapists. We are ideally looking for an experienced Speech-language Therapist who enjoys working with an established team, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and is driven and proactive in their ongoing development of advanced skills. You will have a degree in Speech-language Therapy and hold an Annual Practising Certificate with the New Zealand Speech-language Therapy Association.
Now to the city itself, Dunedin offers the opportunity to have the lifestyle you’ve always dreamed of. Boasting excellent education and restaurants, competitive costs of living and a beautiful coastline, life can be as relaxed or as energetic as you want. Our team enjoy the short commute to work, leaving ample time for what matters to you most. Add to this the close proximity to some of New Zealand’s most famous scenery and holiday destinations (think Queenstown, Wanaka and Milford Sound to name but a few!) you can go from seaside to ski-slopes in a matter of hours.
Sounds too good to be true?
Rest assured, you can have it all here. Why not come see for yourself!
Closing date: Sunday, 3 October 2021.
Due to the fast-paced nature of the DHB, our vacancy close dates may be subject to change. Don’t delay, make sure you apply as soon as possible.
