Ngā mōhiohio e pā hānga ki tēnei mahi (About this position)
In this role you will provide comprehensive assessment for paediatric patients with feeding and swallowing difficulties, in order to develop an agreed plan of care, ensuring feeding and swallowing interventions provided are in line with contemporary research and evidenced based practice in order to deliver safe, high quality clinical care.
Service delivery may occur in a range of settings and in partnership with individuals, families, whanau and communities and the interdisciplinary model of care.
We have two 0.6FTE positions available, each working 48 hours a fortnight. One of these is a new permanent position and the other is a temporary position covering parental leave from late March 2020 for up to 12 months. These positions offer you a great opportunity to further your clinical experience while enjoying your free time in our wonderful region, surrounded by national parks, sunshine and beaches.
As these are district wide roles, there will be the requirement to travel to Wairau Hospital in Blenheim on a regular basis.
Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)
You will be an enthusiastic and passionate Speech and Language therapist who possess a broad range of clinical skills and preference will be given to those who have paediatric experience, particularly in paediatric feeding and dysphagia. You will be eligible for membership to the New Zealand Speech Language Therapy Association (NZSTA) and posses a relevant and recognised qualification in Speech Therapy.
If you have a strong patient focus, commitment to excellence, great communication skills and are able to be flexible working in a team situation and autonomously, then we would like to hear from you.
