We have an exciting opportunity for a Speech Language Therapist to work across both the Eastern CHS based in Botany and CSR team based in MMH. This could be a fantastic opportunity to broaden your skill set. To be successful in this role you would need to have a relevant Speech Language Therapy degree and current annual practising certificate, as well as work experience, particularly in the areas of progressive neurological conditions and head and neck cancer.
CSR provides stroke specialist rehabilitation in the clients own homes with a focus on community reintegration and promotion of self-management. You will be a key member of an inter-disciplinary team using your expertise in assessment and clinical interventions to deliver rehabilitation including an early supported discharge model of care. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a dynamic team, leading the delivery of stroke rehabilitation nationally.
This role will provide Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) assessment and intervention for adults with swallowing and acquired communication disorders, in their home and community settings. You will facilitate functional goals with the client/patient in partnership with the inter-disciplinary team.
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in instrumental assessments such as videofluoroscopy and FEES and refer to and link in with other agencies such as assistive augmentative communication (AAC) providers to achieve best outcomes for your clients.
In this position you would work closely with other SLT’s at Counties to ensure that there is a coordinated approach to the patient’s needs. You will also receive support from the community SLT team including Advanced Clinician, and will link in with the service wide SLT professional development opportunities across CMDHB.
If you enjoy variety, new challenges, working in a multicultural setting and being part of an interdisciplinary team then we look forward to hearing from you.
