ABI Community Services has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Speech Language therapist in paediatrics and neurological rehabilitation to join our team. We are a leader in the field of rehabilitation in NZ and an accredited provider of community based rehabilitation for adults and children with acquired brain injury, neurological and orthopaedic conditions.

Key clinical roles include assessment and long-term rehabilitation of clients with neurodevelopmental challenges or traumatic brain injury to facilitate return to pre injury roles or to achieve their developmental potential. The majority of the clients seen by our team are children, although you may also be asked to support adult clients at times. We see our clients at home, school/ kindergarten, and in community settings and have a strong client and family/ whanau focus.

You would be working in a supportive team environment alongside occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, dietitians, registered nurses and social workers. You would also have the opportunity to contribute to rehabilitation service planning and promotion, training and development, and clinical research.

The successful applicant will have a Bachelor of Speech Language Therapy (or equivalent), have or be eligible for NZSTA registration, and a minimum of four years paediatric rehabilitation and/or community experience. Experience and specialist skills and interest in at least one of the following areas is desirable: AAC, dysphagia, and cognitive-communication disorders.
